I upgraded to a 31' Alpenlite, and since I also tow G/N horse traliers, went with the Hitch Rite brand of G/N adapter. The smaller one I had on a 25' Alpenlite and never had a problem with it, or a concern. I have personal experience with both brands of G/N adapters being sold by Camping World. Once the 5er starts to move the stresses go down. You can only input the force needed to move the 5er. The force needed to move the 5er is constant for all hitches and it goes through the same frame attachment point-the pin. Nether the gooseneck nor regular hitch can put any additional torque force on the frame, unless you stop the wheels from turning. Still, with frame failures being somewhat common, I don't think I would do it. ![]() But I don't recall anyone ever having said they actually had or knew of anyone having a frame failure due to having one. And there are frequent discussions about some manufacturers voiding warranties if you put one on. There is no doubt that they put additional torque forces on the front of the frame.
